Our Two-Step Grant Application Process

The Silver Family Foundation uses a competitive two-step process to ensure equitable review and efficient use of resources.

Step 1: Letter of Inquiry (LOI) - Required for All Applicants

What it is: A brief 2-page overview of your organization, program, and funding request. (See requirements  below)

When to submit: By the LOI deadline for each grant cycle (Spring & Fall, see dates below)

What happens next: All LOIs are reviewed, and organizations with strong alignment to our priorities will be invited to submit a full Grant Application.

Step 2: Full Grant Application - By Invitation Only

Who can apply:  Only organizations invited to advance after LOI evaluation

Timeline: Full applications due approximately either March 31 or Sept. 30 each year.

Final decision: Grant awards announced ~3 months after application deadline
