✓ Geographic location: Based in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho
✓ Target population: Underserved school-aged youth (pre-school through college ages)
✓ Program type: Long-term, transformative programs (not one-time events)
✓ Program focus: Aligns with our funding priorities listed below
Our Funding Priorities
The Silver Family Foundation strives to support positive youth development by making grants to non-profits in Oregon, Washington and Idaho that work with at-risk youth. We focus on transformative youth development programs that provide in-depth, long-term investments and opportunities for underserved youth.
We prioritize programs that:

Mentor school-age youth through structured, ongoing relationships

Provide academic intervention and support to help students achieve benchmark reading levels

Inspire, support, and teach students to excel in school and beyond

Support each child's academic needs along with their social and emotional health

Prepare students for college and career through preparatory programs and retention efforts

Focus on high school completion and post-secondary preparation
What We Don't Fund

Grants to individuals

One-time events or short annual events (such as conferences)

Most capital campaigns

Organizations outside Oregon, Washington, and Idaho

Programs without established measurement tools or processes
Grant Information

Grant range: Typically $15,000 to $50,000
