The Silver Family Foundation strives to support positive youth development by making grants to non-profits in Oregon, Washington and Idaho that work with at-risk youth. Our grantmaking priorities include programs that work in the areas of youth mentorship; academic intervention and enrichment; high school completion, college and post secondary preparation and retention.
Please see our Grantee section for examples of some of the current programs that we fund.
The first step in the Silver Family Foundation application process is to submit a short Letter of Inquiry (LOI). Letters are reviewed on a continuous basis, and may be submitted at any time during the year. All LOI are reviewed to determine if they fall within the Silver Family Foundation guidelines. Once a LOI is reviewed, the request will either be declined or the organization will asked to submit a full proposal. The Silver Family Foundation does not accept unsolicited grant proposals and all organizations must first complete the LOI process.
